VIN DIESEL CONFIRMS "THE LAST WITCH HUNTER 2" IS IN THE CARDS
The Last Witch Hunter was supposed to be another sure-thing Vin Diesel vehicle that would lead to a franchise however after it's release in 2015 plans quickly changed. The film was critically panned with a 17% Rotten Tomatoes score out of 134 reviews and a international box office receipt of 146 million against a budget of 90 million.
Now 146 million against a 90 million budget may sound like a win for Lionsgate however that's not accounting for advertising and other unaccounted for factors. The film nonetheless was a huge disappointment for the studio, actors and filmmakers involved and a sequel seemed out of the picture… until now.
In a recent interview with Collider, Vin Diesel had this to say about the subject:
"Lionsgate is coming and saying, ‘We’re putting a writer on for the next one.’ That’s kinda cool! … And this is just recent, by the way. But it’s funny that you mentioned Last Witch Hunter because I’m in a meeting with Lionsgate and they’re actively creating the sequel to The Last Witch Hunter.
While this is far from an official announcement from Lionsgate, it's something and thats more than we had last week. Fans of the film shouldn't get there hopes up though as things obviously haven't gotten far beyond discussions…
