OUR MOVIE REVIEW:

Time to turn the grill on, prep the ingredients and make some burgers! Directed by Loren Bouchard and Bernard Derriman, The Bob’s Burgers Movie is everything a Bob’s Burgers fan would ever want. It’s quite literally a perfect incarnation of the show delivered to us on the big screen and it’s a true fan’s dream come true. Bursting with epic musical numbers, familiar faces and iconic puns; there’s really not much more a Bob’s Burgers fan could ask for.

With the restaurant in serious financial trouble, Bob and Linda must find a way to keep the restaurant afloat with minimal time to turn things around. While Tina, Gene and Louise become private investigators to help clear the Belcher’s landlord’s name. As the stories progress they eventually intertwine to an epic conclusion that is heartfelt, comical and builds even more depth to these characters we’ve spent the past decade getting to know.

The Bob’s Burgers' voice cast returns (H. Jon Benjamin, Dan Mintz, Kristen Schaal, John Roberts, Eugene Mirman) with all their goofy and glorious delivery - even when a joke may not land entirely, the way the character’s deliver or react to the joke heighten the humor. Only rarely does a joke fall slightly flat, the writing is strategic, so that every time you’ve just finished laughing at one joke, the next joke is right on cue to get you cracking up again. It’s a film that’s easy to smile through and even when you’re not laughing, you can’t help but grin at everything transpiring on screen.

The animation is crisp and provides a more traditional feeling than most modern animated features, The Bob’s Burgers Movie brings the whacky and memorable animation from the television series to the big screen with delightful care.

For the unfamiliar, the film will be an incredibly wild experience which will simply be the thing that gets them addicted to the crazy Bob’s Burgers’ world or when they realize it’s just not for them. For fans, this feature length episode is a grand adventure for the Belcher family with a murder mystery and burger-making hijinks at the heart of the film. The Bob’s Burgers Movie is one of the best films of the year, as well as one of the sharpest animations and a triumphant transition from the small screen to the big screen.
