“A beautiful and patient portrait”

     RELEASE: 11.26.21

C'mon C'mon (2021)

THE "IMDB" PREMISE:

"When his sister asks him to look after her son, a radio journalist embarks on a cross-country trip with his energetic nephew to show him life away from Los Angeles."

OUR [TO THE POINT] REVIEW:

A beautiful and patient portrait of a double coming of age story for both young and old. Vignettes sewn together—both past and present—of an unexpected connection and new temporary life together, Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix) and Jesse (Woody Norman) navigate life and travel together when Jesse’s mom/Johnny’s sister, Viv (Gabby Hoffman) takes on the task of getting help for her estranged husband, Jesse’s father, Paul (Scoot McNairy). The story is about family; it’s soft and sweet, a look at people attempting to come to terms with their emotions and experiences. The chemistry is off the charts between all the characters, and Mike Mills direction brings it to life. A perfect rainy day film, guaranteed to warm your heart.

Please tell me all those interviews with children are real, those might have been my favorite parts of the film (you’ll see what I mean when you watch it!).

CONCLUSIVE VERDICT:
